BEMIDJI– Five were recently charged in relation to the late September death of a 19-year-old Cokato man.
According to a release from the Beltrami County Attorney’s Office, Bryce Mattson, Jack Mathison, Aaron Trebelhorn, Zachary Morse and Jordan Swan were each charged with two gross misdemeanor counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor.
Mattson, Mathison and Trebelhorn allegedly pooled funds to purchase the kegs of beer for a large party held on the 2500 block of Calihan Avenue the night of Sept. 29, and the complaint further alleges that Morse and Swan bought and distributed the kegs.
Each count carries a maximum penalty of a year in jail and up to a $3,000 fine.
Isaac Morris, 19, of Cokato, attended that party and fell from the seventh floor of Tamarack Hall later that night, according to an initial release from the Bemidji Police Department.
