The superintendent of Dassel-Cokato schools has identified the 18-year-old man who died after an apparent fall from a residence hall at Bemidji State University.

Superintendent Jeff Powers says Isaac Morris graduated this spring and was well-known by his peers and in the community.

Bemidji Police Captain David LaZella says, “We are still investigating to figure out what happened right now.”

Efforts to revive Morris were unsuccessful.  He was not an enrolled student at BSU. Time of the fall was at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 1.

BSU President Faith Hensrud said in a press conference the university is making efforts to ensure the well-being of students after the incident by using the student center for health and counseling, as well as deploying Sanford Behavioral Health’s Mobile Crisis Team.

No new information on the event or the investigation has yet been released.
