The Bemidji Police Department announced today that the investigation into the death of Hardel Sherrell, an inmate of the Beltrami County Jail who collapsed and died due to “an unknown medical condition” on Sunday, Sept. 2, has been completed.
According to a release from Chief of Police Mike Mastin, Sherrell was found unresponsive and not breathing, and after a “thorough investigation by the Bemidji Police Department and Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office, it has been determined that Hardel Sherrell died from pneumonia.”
