BAGLEY MN – A bus from Grand Rapids rolled over on Highway 2, about 6 miles east of Fosston. Eight people were injured, seven students and the bus driver. They were transported to emergency rooms in Bagley and Fosston. 22 students and a staff member were on a field trip headed to the Great Plains Youth Institute in Crookston when the crash occurred at 8:18 a.m. According to the districts Facebook page the 22 students have been released and returned home. Two adults are currently receiving medical attention. The State Patrol is investigating the crash.
BEMIDJI MN – The Carnegie Library has some new hope. The project to restore the historic building was given more time as the city council voted 4-3, to approve a rebidding project. Supports of the renovation presented a new option that doesn’t move the building back, but still includes remolding. Not moving the building back will save a little more than $500, 000.
BEMIDJI MN – The Sutter Brothers will present a 50 minute program music, stories, and poetry that explore the history, culture, and landscape of northern Minnesota on Saturday May 12th. BEMIDJI MN – Wildfire risks remain high in Minnesota, and the MN DNR has added new counties to the burn restriction list. Cass (North and South), Beltrami (South), Hubbard, Itasca, Clearwater, and Koochiching are among the new counties added to the list, effective immediately. The State will not issue burning permits for brush or yard waste in any of those counties. People who do burn debris can be held financially responsible if their fire escapes and burns other property. For more information you can visit the DNR website.
