FROHN TOWNSHIP– Authorities say a man may have died early Friday morning after ingesting heroin.
According to a release from the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence on the 13,000 block of Power Dam Road after receiving a call about a male not breathing.
Occupants of the residence performed life saving measures on the man before deputies arrived. The Bemidji Ambulance service also tried life saving measures, but were unsuccessful. The deceased male was identified as 21-year-old Jordan L. Smith of Cass Lake.
The resident’s occupants told deputies they believed Smith ingested heroin earlier that evening. Deputies arrived on the scene around 4 a.m. Friday. Further investigation is pending. An autopsy will be performed by the county’s Coroner’s office and will be complete pending toxicology reports.
