BAGLEY– Bagley Police Officers are searching for a Bemidji man believed to have been the aggressor in a violent assault against two women.

According to the complaint filed, 32-year-old Joel David Burdick assaulted a mother and daughter in the Red Lake Avenue area in Bagley Tuesday night. The two women were transported to a Fargo Hospital for their serious injuries.

Officers described the victims’ injuries in the report, citing serious lacerations, eyes swollen shut, and the tip of one of the victim’s fingers was held on with just a strip of skin.

Victim statements to law enforcement indicated that Burdick wanted the victims’ Oxycodone, a synthetic opioid, prescription. Victims, according to the complaint, believed Burdick tried to kill them.

Burdick, according to the warrant, has been charged with two counts of felony assault in the first degree. Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Burdick should contact the Bagley Police Department or call 9-1-1.
