HUBBARD CO– A 26-year-old Bemidji man was transported to the Sanford Hospital in Fargo with non-life-threatening injuries following a crash in Hubbard County Sunday. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Eric Woodford was driving a Chevy Silverado in the northbound lane on Highway 71 in Guthrie Township when he veered off to the left side of the road. Woodford drove into the ditch until he hit a culvert and went airborne, until the Chevy finally landed on the driver’s side. It is unknown if Woodford was wearing his seatbelt, and alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

PARK RAPIDS– A Park Rapids man was charged with assault in Hubbard County last Monday. According to the criminal complaint, 24-year-old Adam Keith Rossberg is accused of assaulting an intoxicated victim at the Middle School Apartments in Park Rapids. The victim suffered a large cut to his left check and his left eye was swollen and bruised. Rossberg, a caretaker at the apartments, told law enforcement that he was acting in self-defense. Rossberg is out of custody and his next court appearance is on June 26.

PARK RAPIDS– A Hutchinson man was charged in Hubbard County with terroristic threats following an incident in early June. According to the criminal complaint, 27-year-old Jason Duane Lampl is accused of threatening a Park Rapids man who formerly dated Lampl’s mother. Lampl, who had two warrants for drugs and theft, was arrested last Wednesday and is currently in the Hubbard County Jail. Lampl’s next court appearance will be July 3.

ST. LOUIS CO.– The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says a man accidentally shot himself in the buttocks.  The Sheriff’s Office says it happened Thursday while the man was camping near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.  The man shot himself while he was trying to remove the gun from a holster on the back of his pants.  He was taken to Ely Bloomenson Community Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

BEMIDJI– The Bemidji City Council will discuss utility connection fees during their meeting today at City Hall. According to notes in the council packet, the construction of the utility lines down to Gene Dillon Elementary School will be complete in the next month. City staffers are anticipating that some property owners may want to connect to the city water and sewer. When the city has expanded their utilities in the past, they have charged connection fees to property owners, such as in the South Shore development and in south east Nymore. The City, if it follows the recommendation of City staff, would pass a Resolution to establish a 12-thousand-dollar connection fee for Division Street Property Owners.

PARK RAPIDS– Jimmy Neutron will be on the 2nd Street Stage in Park Rapids on June 29. According to a release from Paul Bunyan Communications, the Nickelodeon-costumed character will roam the stage area between 6 and 8 pm in 20-minute intervals. Paul Bunyan Communications partnered with Nickelodeon for this event to celebrate the 2nd Street Stage in Downtown Park Rapids.

BEMIDJI– Brigid’s Pub in downtown Bemidji is now under new ownership. According to a press release from Realtor Jesse Westrum, Travis Glass and Jake Robinson purchased the establishment.
